2,000 Flushes
What it is: 2,000 Flushes is an abandoned mine last active in the 1900s. In the daylight, the water at the bottom is a bright turquoise color, and in the nightlight, you cannot see the bottom of this 3/4 mile-deep hole.
Where it is: You will not be able to find it on Google Maps, so follow the directions as followed...
- Head West on Highway 56 for
- Take a right
WARNING: You CANNOT swim in this lagoon; the water is toxic from the abundance of copper and iron.
We've gone swimming in 2000 flushes multiple times. It has great cliff diving as well. The water isn't toxic and there are fish, frogs and birds in the area.
ReplyDeleteFor one it is not possible to suck up enough metal to hurt you and two it is not private land but whatever
